Welcome to the Great Barrow Challenge, the greatest sports endurance event this side of pro sport.

We never said it was going to be easy.
We never said everyone would make it.

But we do say it will be among the greatest days of your sporting year and that you’ll be hooked forever!

So, what is The Great Barrow Challenge?

It is a gauntlet…thrown down to YOU if you have the courage to pick it up and  challenge yourself to do something that you may have never done before and something which will test your strength and character to the limits……

The Great Barrow Challenge is a series of extreme sporting events throughout the year in the wonderful countryside of East Anglia, where you will have the chance to run, cycle, walk or a mixture of all three, over set distances to be completed within a time limit each day. Follow the 3 easy steps to find your challenge:

1. CHOOSE YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • Walking
  • Running
  • Cycling
  • Combination of above

2. CHOOSE YOUR DISTANCE:

  • Walk – 6,10,15 or the full 26.2 miles per day
  • Run – 6,10,15 or the full 26.2 miles per day
  • Cycle – 30, 60 or the full 125 miles per day

3. CHOOSE YOUR EVENT:

  • Spring Challenge, Saturday 17th March 2012
  • Summer Challenge, Saturday 16th to Sunday 17th June 2012
  • Great Barrow Challenge Wednesday 19th to Saturday 22nd September 2012

Tough? We like to think so. That’s why we offer a special medal to anyone who can finish the full four day challenge in September.

This event is as much about mental strength as it is bodily fitness and is not aimed at ultra-fit athletes. If you have a basic level of fitness and the desire to succeed then YOU will have the chance to win a medal.
